Event Details
According to recent studies, over 633,000 residents in the Greater DC Region are at risk of or experiencing hunger. In DC, one in three residents, or one out of every ten households, is suffering from or at risk of hunger. To address this need, three dynamic, young professional run, organizations have come together to raise monies to help feed less fortunate families of the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area on Thanksgiving Day. The Fellaz, Divas, MPH (Making our People Healthier), and Everyday Pple are joining forces to bring together young professionals to support this effort at For The Love: A Social Mixer & Charity Date Auction.
This event will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2010 from 7-11pm at Funxion Restaurant & Lounge (1309 F St. NW Washington DC). Proceeds from this fundraising event will be used to purchase food to feed the hungry on Thanksgiving Day. We are working with the Share Food Network to provide food baskets and other holiday essentials for as many families as we can the weekend before the holiday.

The Fellaz (www.thefellaz.org)-- The Fellaz began as a group of friends on the campus of Morgan State University. Whether bonded through affiliations that began in high school or sports teams in college, we were a close-knit circle of young, educated Black men who were all determined to be successful, hence dubbing ourselves “The Circle of Success.” Today, we are that same circle—a unique group of Black men with different passions, backgrounds and interests; however we unite on the notion that we want to dispel myths and stereotypical assumptions of Black men.
